The first issue with the integral title page is thought by Merle Johnson to be virtually unobtainable; but a few have surfaced at auction. With "Set up and electrotyped. Published October 1906" on copyright page and no additional printings noted. Bound in blue illustrated cloth. Color frontispiece and 7 additional color plates plates by Chas. Livington Bull. Small hole in front free endpaper. Small stain to back cover as well as the spine. Boards are a bit cocked so that the book does not sit perfectly square on the shelf. Some rubbing to the edges of the boards. Pencil inscription on recto of frontispiece. Text block feels firm and secure. Very Good - (minus). Item #89370
