284pp. Bound into green cloth with gilt lettering and a great illustration of an elephant on the cover and spine. With a color frontispiece and 8 black and white plates by Winifred Austin. There is a small ink date stamp (Oct 2 1918) on probably a third of the leaves in the upper right corner, on blank space only. It is unclear to me why this was done. Some scattered staining to page edges. Text block remains firm.
