Frontispiece engraving of General Sherman and 28 other illustrations and maps. Some of the llustrations are by Remington. First published in 1887, this is an early (second printing?) reprint with 1889 on the title page. Corners are bumped and worn. Some fraying to head and tail of spine. Previous owner's name on second front endpaper. There is a stain on the edge of the frontispiece portrait but it does not reach the illustration itself. Binding remains firm and holding. Good.
