An old library label has been partially removed from front free endpaper; no other indications of it being a library copy. Small chip out of front free endpaper. Discussion of archeaology, ice ages and glaciers, mankinds antiquity, and natural selection. Though Lyell heavily influenced Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection, only in his later years as shown in this publication did he show (grudging) support for the theory.
