Name dated 1846 on title page, Mary Callaghan (?), two more modern owners' bookplates on front fixed endpaper of each volume, Robert Woods Bliss and Mildred Bliss of Dumbarton Oaks. Robert Bliss was the US Minister to Sweden and US ambassador to Argentina.
