Some light rubbing to the edges of the boards. Twenty illustrations including frontispiece and fold-out plan. 250 copies published. Ex-Yale Medical Library copy with small stamp inside front cover. Three previous owner's bookplates inside front cover. Two of these are from Samuel C. Harvey who has written his name on the second and third front endpapers. Samuel Harvey was a research fellow and surgical resident under the direction of Harvey Cushing from 1913-1917 and in 1917 he was assigned by Army Base Hospital No. 5 Medical. Cushing was a pioneering neurosurgeon; some of his tools are still in use today. He also wrote a popular biography of Sir William Osler. Very Good. Item #49
